Gentle Trusted Support Through Every Stage of Life
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports your body’s natural ability to restore balance and heal. Developed in the early 1900s, CST works with the rhythms of the craniosacral system—the membranes and fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord—that influence how we hold tension, process stress, and experience wellbeing.
Like the heartbeat or breath, the craniosacral system has its own rhythm. When life events such as illness, medication, accidents, trauma, birth experiences, or ongoing stress disrupt this rhythm, the body can hold patterns of tension that affect both physical and emotional health. These patterns often operate beneath our awareness but can shape how safe, connected, and resilient we feel in our everyday lives.
Relational Craniosacral Therapy
Relational Craniosacral Therapy recognises that healing doesn’t happen through technique alone—it also happens within relationship, trust and accompanied presence.
An embodied therapist brings their own grounded, regulated presence into the session, staying connected to themselves while deeply listening to you. This creates a relational space where you don’t have to manage, perform or work things out alone; your body and your experience are accompanied rather than fixed.
Research into heart-rate variability and physiological coherence, including work from HeartMath, explores how our physiological states are connected with emotional regulation and how patterns of synchronisation can occur between people. For me, this helps describe what it means to hold a field of relationality: I remain present and embodied while your system is given the time, safety and relationship it needs to find its own movement towards greater ease, connection and wholeness.
How can Craniosacral Therapy Help?
Many people come to CST when they feel “stuck” and haven’t found relief through other approaches. Old stress, unresolved trauma, or early overwhelming experiences can live on in the body, resurfacing.
By gently meeting the places that have been holding old stress, CST opens the door to:
- Greater freedom and ease in the body
- Deeper emotional resilience
- Renewed creativity and growth
- A sense of safety and wholeness in life and relationships
Often these roots trace back to times when we were too young or too vulnerable to respond—moments where the body’s only option was to hold on. CST helps bring these imprints into awareness in a safe, supportive way, so the body can finally release and reorganize.
Restoring Balance through CST
Craniosacral Therapy offers a gentle space to listen to pain, stress and patterns of tension the body may have learned to hold over time. With trauma-informed attention, we can notice the harsh inner voice, negative self-talk and protective patterns without trying to silence or change them. By learning to be with all parts of ourselves, including those we may have pushed away, something can begin to shift—creating forward movement, greater vitality and steps towards feeling more connected to who we truly are
Chronic Pain & Craniosacral Therapy
Chronic pain can be more than where it hurts. Our bodies may continue to carry tension, protective patterns and unresolved experiences from the past, particularly when life has required us to keep going despite overwhelm or conflict. Craniosacral therapy offers a gentle space to listen to what the body is holding, support greater ease and allow the possibility of a new way forward.
Stress, Anxiety, Compassion Fatigue & Burnout
Unresolved stress and past experiences can keep our nervous system working hard, even when we are unaware of it. Over time, chronic stress, caring for others and continually overriding our own needs can contribute to anxiety, compassion fatigue and burnout, affecting sleep, digestion, energy and physical wellbeing. Craniosacral therapy offers space for the body to slow down, settle and reconnect with its natural capacity for rest and recovery.
Mental health begins with knowing yourself and understanding what drives your thoughts, feelings and reactions. You come with a life issue and we explore the root cause together through embodied self-inquiry. You recognise the patterns shaped by past experiences, reconnect with your authentic self and move towards being in the driving seat of your own life—with greater choice, connection and freedom.
Stress & Anxiety
Stress and anxiety can sometimes be signs of a nervous system working hard to manage unresolved experiences and internal conflict. When different parts of us are caught between what we truly feel and the survival strategies we have learned, this internal split can keep the body in a state of protection. Over time, continually managing this survival stress can affect our physical and emotional wellbeing. Relational Craniosacral Therapy offers a gentle space to explore what may be underneath the symptoms and support movement towards greater integration, ease and connection with ourselves.
Sleep & Digestive Issues
Gentle craniosacral therapy supports relaxation and ease, helping the nervous system move from prolonged stress towards greater balance. From toddlers through to adulthood, supporting the autonomic nervous system and vagal tone may help with sleep, digestion, stress, tension and difficulty switching off, encouraging the body’s natural capacity for rest and regulation.
