Why CST?

CST frees up the tissues in and around the craniosacral system to enhance better production, distribution and flow of cerebrospinal fluid. The craniosacral system includes the membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Cerebrospinal fluid nourishes the central nervous system, transports important enzymes and ions, and helps eliminate toxins. Improved flow of cerebrospinal fluid thus resources the body to perform better and to heal itself through improved building, repairing and balancing functions. Since the brain and spinal cord are contained within the central nervous system it is easy to see how the craniosacral system has a powerful influence over a wide variety of bodily functions.

Craniosacral therapists are trained to facilitate the body to release both physical and emotional trauma. Somato Emotional Release was the name given by Dr. John Upledger to the release of emotions held in body tissue during CST treatment. CST therapists follow body wisdom so nothing is forced.

Babies and children respond instinctively to CST/SER.
